WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MUSCLES DURING A SPEEDFITNESS® TRAINING SESSION?

During an impulse active stimulation and resting periods alternate every 4 seconds.

 

The unit of frequency of a current is Herz (Hz), which shows how many impulses the muscle receives during the contraction.

 

Depending on the number of muscle contractions, there are 3 customised programs to choose from.

 

  • 7 Hz means 7 muscle contractions in one second. The benefits of this low frequency are increased lymphatic and blood circulation and boosting metabolism. (Cellulite-program)

 

  • 85 Hz means 85 muscle contractions in one second. This is the optimal stimulation frequency to use on striated muscles. (Speedfitness strength training)

 

  • 100 Hz means 100 muscle contractions in one second. Best used for pain relief and as muscle relaxer. (Body relax program after a workout)


DO I HAVE TO PERFORM DYNAMIC EXERCISES DURING A SPEEDFITNESS® TRAINING SESSION?

Yes, if you would like to. The workout is significantly more efficient if static exercises are combined with dynamic exercises that require the whole body to move and get engaged. The movements during the workout are the same as the basic exercises of a conventional strength training or an aerobics class.

While in a gym weights, machines, or battle ropes etc. are used, with EMS the training tool is the low frequency electric current itself. With conventional training the weight provides the workload, with EMS it’s the strength of the impulse.


CAN A SPEEDFITNESS® WORKOUT SUBSTITUTE FOR A CONVENTIONAL TRAINING?

Absolutely. During training 85 muscle contractions occur per second. This means 4 times 85 contractions during one single impulse. In conventional training terms, this equals to one squat when working on the thigh muscle. So it puts the same amount of workload on the muscles as 85 squats per second. And Speedfitness® can achieve this in 8 muscle groups at the same time!


WILL I FEEL STIFF AFTER TRAINING?

Yes. EMS training results in a very intense muscle activity, which will be followed by stiffness and sore muscle 2-3 days later. It is recommended to conclude the session with stretching exercises in order to reduce the soreness of the muscles.

HOW MANY TIMES A WEEK DO I NEED TO TRAIN WITH SPEEDFITNESS® TO HAVE VISIBLE RESULTS?

The 20-minute-long Speedfitness® training is so intense that one session per week could be sufficient if the trainings are supplemented by healthy, conscious eating. The personal trainers in our studios will gladly help you to plan a diet with the right choice and amount of food.


HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS?

If regular Speedfitness® training is combined with healthy eating, results can already be seen after 4-5 sessions. It is important to note that training is only a part of the process to transform your body. Without the appropriate food the change will be much slower. It is advised to follow a protein-rich and low-carb diet and to eat 4 smaller meals a day.

Our professional nutritionists and qualified trainers will work with you to develop an easy-to-follow diet. This, combined with the training regime, will provide the shortest way to success.

 


HOW CAN SPEEDFITNESS® AID WEIGHT LOSS?

 

The issue of weight loss and fat-tissue reduction nowadays is often approached with an unhealthy and unbalanced diet. Although weight loss can indeed be achieved eventually, this mainly happens at the expense of losing muscle tissue. A lifestyle that consists of insufficient nutrition and a lack of exercise can directly lead to adverse effects on the body’s metabolism.

Absolutely not! On the contrary! The causes of back and lumbar pain are often rooted in a sedentary lifestyle and lack of exercise. The stabilising muscles that support the spine grow weak and pain sets in. Speedfitness® will effectively strengthen the stabilising muscles and not just superficially. DOES IT HURT?

Speedfitness® trainings are totally pain-free. During the workout clients will experience some muscle contraction and muscle work similar to weight trainings. Electric impulses are evenly distributed across the surface of the specialised electric pads that are tightly fitted to the body. Thanks to the cutting-edge EMS technology of miha bodytec, the electric currents will not cause any unpleasant sensation. There are no painful hotspots conveying sharp kicks.


CAN I GET ELECTROCUTED DURING THE TRAINING?

Getting an electric shock during a session is absolutely impossible, this method is perfectly safe. The strict German system of quality control can guarantee that there will not be any inconvenience during the training sessions.


CAN SPEEDFITNESS® PROVIDE A MASSAGE PROGRAM?

Yes.

Speedfitness® also offers a massage program (body relax) alongside strength and cellulite training programs. This helps to pleasantly loosen up the muscles after a workout. This program provides a cool-down and stretching phase at the end of the session, and it can still be supplemented with more specific stretching exercises.

 


IS SPEEDFITNESS® SUITABLE FOR REHABILITATION PURPOSES?

Yes! EMS training does not put pressure on the joints, so it is suitable for anyone. Clinical studies have proven that this training method is effective in treating back and lumbar problems, as it can reach and strengthen deeper-lying muscles. The number of complaints reduced and eventually disappeared within a short period of time during tests.

IS IT SUITABLE FOR REHABILITATION AFTER CHILDBIRTH?

WHAT SHOULD I EAT BEFORE AND AFTER A TRAINING SESSION?

  • It is advised that 2.5-3 hours before your Speedfitness® session you eat a protein-rich meal and vegetables that suit your own diet. It is recommended to stop eating 2 hours before the session.

 

  • 30-45 minutes before the session starts drink at least half a litre of liquid. Tip: have a glass of isotonic sports drink on the premises, which will boost the efficiency of your workout.

 

  • Within half an hour after the training, you should drink a high biological value protein shake.
